Limit which payment cards attendees can use when registering (only accounts with payment gateway)

When you charge a fee via EasySignup for attending an event, it may be paid by payment card. Under existing law (as of 01.01.2018), it is not legal to let private cardholders pay the fee for the transaction.

The fee will be withheld in the event's revenue. However, you have the opportunity to limit which cards attendees can pay with. This means you can opt out of the cards with the highest fees.

Note: In some cases, EasySignup can pass on the fee to the person ordering. Learn more in this guide.

Below you are guided to limit which cards can be used for payment of registration on a single event.

  • Find the event and click on the edit button.
  • Find the section "Payment Settings" under the tab "Finances". Select "Yes" to "Use special payment settings for this event" to make specific settings for this event. Click on the edit icon next to "Payment Card".

You can also completely remove the possibility of paying by card by clicking "X". In this case, you must add other payment methods if they are not already active.
  • You can now choose which card types attendees can use when registering. "MasterCard, VISA-card - issued in EU (EEA)" has the lowest fee and "MasterCard, VISA-card - issued worldwide" the highest. You can see an example of the fee for amounts of 100, 1000 and 2000.
  • Click ”Close" on the right-hand side when you are done.
  • Attendees can see on the registration page which payment cards are allowed on the event.

Note: You can limit this for all future events. Learn how this is done here.
